Garment Care
RE-THINK / RE-CONSIDER / RE-USE
Aftercare of your clothes has a great impact on both the longevity of garments and our environment. Here's our advice to help you make better conscious choices:
-
Re-think before you wash your garment and reduce your environmental footprint by washing less – it will also make your garment last longer. Try airing and brushing more instead.
-
Wash your garment at low temperature with a gentle cycle and low spin washing programme – it will help save energy and make your clothes equally clean.
-
Leave your washing out to dry instead of tumble drying.
-
Choose an eco-friendly laundry detergent and avoid using fabric conditioners.
-
Use a laundry bag for delicate materials such as viscose, silk and wool and the garment will last longer. Furthermore, turn the garment inside out when washing to avoid pilling.
-
Don't wash your denim. Instead, put them in the freezer for a day or two to kill bacteria, and air them.
-
If you use a dry-cleaner, choose an environmentally-friendly option in order to reduce toxicity and CO2 emissions.
-
When you no longer have a use for clothes, give them to an organisation that can extend the garment’s life and let someone else enjoy it.
